Paver Installation Services in Rocklin, CA

Rocklin got its name from the granite under it, and anyone who has tried to plant a tree here already knows the story. Dig two feet into a yard off Stanford Ranch Road and you may hit decomposed granite, cobble, or solid rock that will not move for a shovel. That ground makes an excellent foundation, but only when a crew knows how to work with it instead of against it.

Adams Pool & Landscape Specialties builds paver patios, driveways, walkways, and pool decks across Rocklin and the rest of south Placer County. We bring equipment sized for hard ground and we plan the base around what is really down there. The finished surface looks sharp and stays put for decades.

Why Homeowners in Rocklin, CA Trust Us

Debbie N.
Adams Pools made our dream come true. Their pebble finish makes our pool so beautiful. The turquoise color of the water is jaw dropping. The crew that came out were prompt, friendly and very professional. I recommend them to anyone looking for a pebble finish that offers the same quality if not better than Pebble Tec. Our pool looks amazing! Thank you Adams Pool! 🙂

We called Adams pools and made an appointment for Matt to come out. From the beginning, he was straight forward, friendly and professional. We chose our tiles and finish, were informed of the prices and scheduled when the work was to be done. We were met with no surprises at all. The work stages were completed as scheduled, all the crews were friendly, and professional. They answered all our questions and cleaned up when they were done.

We hired Adams Pool to install new plaster and tile in our 30 year old pool. They were highly recommended by friends and quoted the best price among several companies that we spoke to. They started our project promptly, and proceeded very quickly. Throughout the process, they were responsive and helpful. Work crews were friendly, efficient and scrupulous about cleaning up and showing care not to disturb landscaping, etc.

The workers were hardworking, timely, as quiet as they could be, and did a wonderful job, keeping workplace clean as they went. Billing was easy and efficient. All in all they did a top notch job and we are extremely pleased with everything.

Thank you to Rodger and the rest of the crew at Adams Pools! My wife and I were very impressed with everything from your workmanship to your follow through. Our pool and spa turned out exactly as we had designed and we can't thank you enough for making this happen. We appreciate that your crew were always friendly and it's obvious your company takes good care of them.

Just had our pool rebuilt by Adams Pool. Fill in to reduce depth to four feet, chip out old plaster and replace with Adams Pebble Plus (similar to Pebble Tech) and replace deck edge with travertine. The sales staff was very expert and helpful, no pressure at all. Turned out beautiful. The crews were very professional, everyone knew exactly what to do and the work is first class.

What Pavers Do for a Home Built on Granite Ground

Most Rocklin subdivisions went up between the late 1980s and the mid 2000s, and the builder almost always poured a small rectangle of plain concrete off the back slider and called it a patio. Twenty years on, those slabs are stained, split at the control joints, and far too small for how a family actually uses a backyard. Pavers let you fix the size and the surface in one project.

Heat is the next thing homeowners raise. Rocklin bakes from June into September with very little tree cover in the newer tracts, and a gray slab holds that heat well past sunset. Paver color and texture can be chosen to cut glare and keep the surface walkable in the afternoon.

The valley oaks this city protects so carefully matter too. Roots push, and they push hardest against anything rigid. A paver surface can be lifted, the root accommodated, and the pavers reset, so a patio near a mature oak is not a lost cause every few years.

Then there is what it does for the house itself. In neighborhoods where a home sells on how the backyard shows, a finished paver patio or driveway reads as a genuine improvement rather than one more thing the next owner has to deal with.

Paver Choices for Rocklin Patios, Driveways, and Walkways

Homes here lean toward stucco, stone veneer, and earth tone rooflines, so the paver has to sit comfortably against all of that. Here is what we install most often in this part of Placer County.

  • Granite toned concrete pavers
  • Tumbled stone in neutrals
  • Oversized rectangular slabs
  • Permeable driveway pavers
  • Textured pool deck pavers
  • Contrasting soldier course borders
  • Matching block seat walls

We match the paver to the house before we match it to a trend, which is why these projects still look right ten years down the road.

Our Approach to Digging and Building in Rocky Soil

The first visit is about what sits under the yard as much as what goes on top. We check grade, look at where roof water lands, and probe for rock so nobody is surprised the morning the machine arrives. On plenty of Rocklin lots the base plan changes once we learn how shallow the granite is.

Digging comes next, and in this town that sometimes means breaking rather than scooping. Where solid rock sits close to the surface we adjust depth and drainage rather than forcing a one size fits all base. Where the ground is loose decomposed granite, we compact in layers until it behaves like road base instead of a sandbox.

With the base compacted and screeded, pavers get laid in the chosen pattern, cut tight at the edges, and locked with restraint along every open side. Polymeric sand goes into the joints and sets up firm against wind, hose water, and weed seed.

Cleanup is part of the job rather than an afterthought. Spoil leaves with us, the surface gets swept and washed, and we walk the whole project with you before calling it finished.

Inside a Paver Project in Stanford Ranch

Mike reached out from Stanford Ranch with a very Rocklin problem. His builder patio was a ten by twelve pad of stamped concrete from the late nineties, the color had washed out to gray, and it had cracked in two places where the ground shifted near a valley oak.

We removed the pad and found the original base was barely more than scraped dirt. The crew dug down to solid ground, worked around the oak roots by hand instead of cutting them, and built a compacted base that reached well past the old footprint.

Mike chose a large format paver in a warm granite tone with a darker border, and the new patio came out nearly triple the original size with a walkway tying it to the side gate. Six days of work start to finish.

He told us the real difference showed up in August. The old slab used to radiate heat until nine at night, and the new surface cools off fast enough that the family eats outside most summer evenings.

We would rather earn the next project than win this one on the cheapest number.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can you install pavers if there is granite under my yard?
Yes. We adjust base depth and drainage where rock sits shallow, and we bring equipment that can break through when the situation calls for it.
A typical backyard patio runs three to five days. Driveways and larger projects that include demolition usually take one to two weeks.
Sometimes, when the slab is sound and the added height still clears your doors and thresholds. We check both before recommending it.
Color and texture make a real difference. Lighter, textured surfaces stay noticeably cooler than plain gray concrete on triple digit afternoons.
Most Rocklin associations approve paver work without trouble. We provide the material details and layout information you need for the submittal.
